Meet the Parcos!
Hey, hey, we’re the Parcos! That’s Ann on the left and Samantha on the right. Circa 1991.

The Parcos are Gen Xers Ann and Samantha. They met in 1977 on Samantha’s first day in Mrs. Topel’s 6th Grade class in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. Ann was the only friendly face in a sea of malevolent miscreants (at least, that’s how it felt) and Samantha eventually asked if they could hang out. They bonded over a love of 60’s British Invasion bands, Gomer Pyle reruns and salty sweet tubers, and have been friends ever since. Life has taken them on some bumpy and wild roads, and they keep in touch from two very different ends of the globe:

Ann is re-starting a sustainable life in Oregon after three decades of marriage that took her from Southern California hipsterdom to the backwoods of West Virginia fighting fracking and pipelines, and ultimately delivered her to the crunchy comfort of the Pacific Northwest.

Samantha was whisked away to Europe by the love of her life and currently lives in northern Germany. She got there by way of temping in Arizona, managing a sales office in Manhattan, creative directing a home shopping diva on two continents, and helping run a literary festival in merry olde England.
